Jean Trends SS12

featured in OOTD ft. The Little Dear No.2 on youtube

I'm a huge fan of jeans, so I thought I would mention some of the main trends for jeans this spring/summer. Jeans are fab for all seasons and there is a style out there for everyone no matter what shape you are; I definitely have a soft spot for high waisted, rolled up skinny jeans, have had since the age of fifteen.

1. Current/Elliot: Stiletto Floral Print Cropped Low Rise Skinny Jeans£195 at Net-A-Porter   2. Topshop: Moto Vintage Floral Jamie Jean £45   3. River Island: White Floral Print Super Skinny £40   4. Current/Elliot: Haystack Floral Print Stiletto Pants £218 at stylebop.com   5. Current/Elliot: Stiletto Skinny Jean£134 at farfetch.com
6. Mango: Floral Print Super Slim Jeans
£34.99

Floral is a trend that reappears every spring/summer and this year we have seen some great floral patterns on jeans; they are a great item to slide into on those days when you don't want to fuss over your outfit too much as they are decorative enough on their own and all they need to accompany them is a classic white tee.

1. Topshop: Moto Noen Supersoft Leigh Jean£38   2. Oasis: Cherry Coloured Jeans, £45   3. Topshop: Moto Turquoise Skinny Leigh Jean£38   4. Cimarron, 79 EUR   5. Monkee Genes: Organic Cotton Sateen Supa Skinny Jean, £55
6. Miss Selfridge: Coral Ultra Soft Jeans
£36

Bright coloured jeans makes a stylish statement piece this season - put with another brightly coloured item if you want to stand out (in a good way) and embrace colour blocking, or bung on a plain tee and lots of jewellery.

1. Glamorous: Jeans Candy Stripe, £40 at House of Fraser   2. Topshop: Moto Stripe Supersoft Leigh Jeans£40
3. Topshop: Moto Neon Stripe Leigh Jeans
£40   4. Current/Elliot: Stiletto Cropped Low Rise Skinny Jeans£195
5. Quiz: White & Blue Stripe Skinny Jean
£14.99 at Debenhams   6. Quiz: White & Beige Skinny Jeans£14.99

Striped jeans have become a huge trend this year and having three pairs myself (from River Island, Motel Rocks and Topshop) I am definitely a fan. Again, you want to keep the rest of the outfit minimal - I usually pair my striped jeans with a plain shirt and collar tips.
1. Current/Elliot: Ankle Lilac Low Rise Skinny Jeans£195 at Net-A-Poter   2. Wallis: Petite Peach Slim Leg Jeans, £23.60
3. Cheap Monday: Tight OD Spearmint$50 at General Pants Co.   4. Mango: Cropped Jeans, £32.99
5. Wallis: Petite Lemon Slim Leg Jean, £23.60   6. Topshop: Moto Mink Baxter Jeans$80
From dusky pink to mint green, everyone is going crazy for pastels this spring/summer and I don't blame them! Wear this trend with a cute pastel coloured pair of heels or flats for the ultimate summary look.
1. J Brand: Twisted Tie Dye Mid Rise Skinny Jeans, £235   2. Acquaverde, 110 EUR
       3. Elizabeth and James: Tie Dye Print Low Rise Skinny Jeans,
 £190 at Net-A-Porter

This year we are embracing the 90s more than ever with tie dye; if you love this trend you most likely have a tie dye top already but do you have a pair of tie dye jeans? This trend is great for any festival look - team it up with some John Lennon style sunglasses to instantly step back in time with your look.

What's your favourite jeans trend this season?

  1. OMG, I must have a pair of stripped jeans and a pair of floral ones in my wardrobe for this summer! I love them (although here in Spain I don't really wear skinny jeans at all, I always go for shorts in summer). Maybe I can find the short version of them anywhere :)

  20. I really love the pair that you're wearing in the photo/video, I like that the colours on them aren't too bright.

  21. Another particularly popular style of Mirror Sunglasses is called the Wraparound. This style of sunglasses consists of either one or two smooth, semi-circular lenses that cover the eyes and resemble the shape of protective goggles.
