London Haul • Urban Outfitters & Topshop

I thought I would make the most of being in London last Friday and did a spot of shopping in the Urban Outfitters and Topshop along Oxford Street. I generally film collective hauls as I rarely have spending spree's like this as they normally lead to impulse buys (and this haul proves just that) therefore I filmed a haul as soon as I got home; hope you enjoy the video!

Audrey Hepburn Returns with New Galaxy Campaign

On Friday 22nd, I was invited by Galaxy Chocolate to have a breakfast at The Ritz in London along with press and other fellow bloggers. As you can imagine I was very excited even if I did have to leave mine at six in the morning, I wasn't going to turn down breakfast at The Ritz and it was just as beautiful and fancy as I had imagined. The reason behind this breakfast was to have a sneak peek at Galaxy's new advertising campaign which will air for the first time on Sunday 24th February during Mr. Selfridge at 9pm, on ITV.

Galaxy want to bring a vintage vibe to the brand and therefore using cutting edge post-production CGI techniques, Galaxy have been able to bring the new 'Galaxy Girl' Audrey Hepburn, to life. The advert is set in the 1950s on Italy's Amalfi Coast, shot it a beatifully romantic and classy way, and who better to have as the new 'Galaxy Girl' than Audrey Hepburn, who is the epitome of grace and sophistication.

“Our mother often spoke about her love of chocolate and how it lifted her spirit so we're sure she would have been proud of her role as the face of GALAXY®. The advert perfectly captures her playful spirit and we hope audiences enjoy it as much as they enjoyed her movies" - Sean Ferrer and Luca Dotti, Audrey Hepburn’s Sons

Guess what? I have the preview of the advert for you to see for yourself before it airs on the television!

What do you think of the new Galaxy advertising campaign?

Wish List • February 2013

1. Topshop: Ditzt Mix Tunic Dress, £42 (buy here)
I've had my eye on this dress for a couple of weeks now as I think it would look great all year round but especially in the summer when I have a little tan (emphasis on the 'little'). The wonder of wearing neutral colours in the summer months is that they go amazingly with the pastel and neon coloured nail polishes that always come into fashion around the hot months.

2. Urban Outfitters: Small Neon Trim Satchel, £35 (buy here)
It breaks my heart to say my favourite brown bag is on it's last thread, and I mean literally the strap has split and is hanging on it's last thread, therefore I'm on the hunt for a new bag and this one from Urban Outfitters is very me. I love that it has a classic look to it with a pop of bright orange around the trim - perfect for summer strolls in the park.

3. Topshop: KONNIE Cage Cut Out Shoes, £42 (buy here)
I get that these aren't going to be every ones cup of tea but I adore this shoes from Topshop; I can imagine wearing them with a lightweight summer dress, riding a vintage bike down the cobbled paths of Italy with my groceries in a little basket on the front of the bike (yes, ok, unrealistic situation, but I can dream right?). I like that compared to most summer shoes, they're actually very sturdy and durable which is why I wouldn't mind paying £42 because they're going to last more than one summer (unlike most of my sandals). Also these would also go well with the Tunic Dress in number one.

What's on your wish list thins month?

London with Helen Melonlady

snapped in the oxford street topshop photo booth
Today I finally got to meet one of my YouTube buddies for the first time and spend the day in London with her. Helen and I have known one another from YouTube for what seems like years so we were both very excited to be hanging out; we spend the day shopping (I was on a tight budget so mainly pointed at things I loved but couldn't get.. disheartening I know..), we got Starbucks, went for a meal at TGI Friday's and chatted LOTS! It was such a a great day and I can't wait to hang out with Helen again in the hopefully near future.

WHAT I AM WEARING (first outfit): Dress: Motel Rocks (buy hereWHAT I AM WEARING (second outfit): Dress: Topshop (buy here) Coat: Topshop (website here)

Hope you enjoyed the vlog and click here to view Helen's YouTube channel!

J.W. Anderson for Topshop • Fashion Focus

image from topshop.com
It's been a long time since I have given you the low-down on new collections and designers, therefore I wanted introduce this seasons new collection by J.W. Anderson for Topshop (shop collection here) if you haven't already seen it and share with you my top picks. Anderson's new collection really caught my eye, most likely down to the striking yet slightly eerie presence in the campaign images. It is apparent that the collection is highly influence by grunge, but for this spring/summer Anderson has added a delightful touch of colour including one of my favourites, lilac!

"This season J.W. Anderson's quintessential school-girl style gets a hint of underground kink with plenty of leather, high flatforms and a grunge twist on the LBD. Eat your heart out, Wednesday Addams, J.W. Anderson’s twisted sisters are here to stay" - Topshop

1. Frill Edge Pinafore, £70 (buy here)
Pinafores aren't everyone's cup of tea, but I personally love them. The added details of the frilled edge gives this pini a one up on all the other pini's we are seeing on the high street today; it would look great with a tanned satchel and a pair of dainty sandals.

2. Striped Shirt, £50 (buy here)
You can't go wrong with a classic striped shirt; it works all year round as it can be teamed up underneath jumpers or worn with a pair of skinny jeans, a bright lipstick and some sunnies in the summer.

3. Neoprene Crop Top, £60 (buy here)
With more and more high waisted jeans on the high street, the demand for crop tops have risen and this lilac crop top would look lovely with a pair of dark wash high waisted jeans this spring/summer; everyone loves a bit of pastel colour in their wardrobe in the warmer months.

Shop the full collection here and view topshop feature for Louise Gray here.

Lydia Bright SS13 Collection Launch • Events

Last week I was invited to attend the launch presentation of Lydia Rose Bright's SS13 Collection along with others from magazines, various websites and YouTube channels etc; I was surprised that I seemed to be one of very few bloggers there so I was very thankful to have been picked to go. Since the debut of Lydia's successful limited edition collection, she has more than doubled the garments in her second collection with sophisticated dresses and separates which have all been highly influence by iconic figures from an era of vintage fashion and beautiful silhouettes, as well as her style icons such as Sex and the City character, Carry Bradshaw, all in which have been tied in with a modern twist.

"The expansion and development of my fashion brand is my number one priority. The vision for my label is to bring vintage shapes and styling to life for a new generation, creating pieces that stylish women will want to wear season-after-season, year-after-year. I'm totally hands-on in the creative process and was overwhelmed by the success of my debut line. I'm even more excited to introduce my second, more diverse seasonal collection" - Lydia Rose Bright

Lydia has focused on four characteristics within her SS13 Collection; florals, lace, glamour and romance, soon to be released this month. I was pleasantly surprised with the collection, one of my favourite items from the collection being the white dress with the diamond lace yoke, seen in the middle photo above. Expect to see sequins, lace, pleats, layering, florals, monochrome and bursts of colour ready for the summer time.

Lace Mesh Crop Top • Styling Saturday

1. Topshop: Lace Mesh Crop Top, £26 (buy here)   2. Office: Educated Loafer, £58 (buy here)  3. New Look: Basic Headscarf, £3.99 (buy here)
4. Topshop: Black Joni Super High Waisted Jeans,
£36 (buy here)  5. MAC: Matte Lipstick in So Chaud, £9.98 (buy here)
This week I wanted to show you how you can style this pretty polka dot mesh crop top from Topshop and it turns out the way I in-visioned styling this number is quite formal looking but I'm going to go along with it as I think it would make a great work outfit or even interview outfit (obviously depending on your line of work). I love a good bit of mesh on tops when it's put over collar bones and arms as I think it's a fabulous way to subtly show some skin in a very classy way.

Topshop have a new selection of super high waisted jeans which are great for tops like this and I prefer when jeans covers the belly button and just show a little bit of skin between the jeans and top because again, it's a classier way of showing some skin. I've kept the shoes simple with a pair of classic black loafers and if I was to take this outfit from day to night I'd swap the loafers for a chunky heel such as these.

High waisted jeans are an easy way to push any outfit into a vintage direction so I thought I'd grab the opportunity to add a red lip and a headscarf for an instant rockabilly vibe. So Chaud by MAC is one of my favourite lipsticks because it's a true red and adds a burst of colour to any outfit lacking in it.

What's your opinion on mesh tops?
