Outfit of the Day • 21.02.14

Here it is, my first video filmed in my new flat and to celebrate having a decent amount of space to now film in, I decided to share a little outfit of the day with you. I'm so happy I no longer have lug my filming equipment up into my attic where I then have to crouch down the entire time. I have been really into wearing high waisted jeans with flats and cropped jumpers or tees recently and as simple as this outfit is, I don't think it matters as personally, I feel that outfit of the days should be a true reflection of what someone wheres on a day-to-day basis. So, that being said, I hope you enjoy mine!

WHAT I AM WEARING: Jumper: Topshop (buy similar) • Jeans: Topshop (buy here) • Belt: River Island (buy here) • Jacket: Topshop (buy here) • Shoes: New Look (buy similar) • Bag: Topshop (website)

Week in Photos No.75

This week I moved into my own place for the first time and I have to say I'm a lot happier for it. I'm still trying to get my head around reading energy meters, working the heating and all that comes with having your own place, but the flat is coming together nicely and I'm pleased to say I definitely chose the perfect flat for me (that was in my price range of course). I even got myself up at eight this morning to go to my gym for a spinning class which was a great way to start the day. Everything seems to be piecing together well and I'm feeling very positive about this year.

Non-Fashion/Beauty Wish List • February 2014

1. Rookie Yearbook Two by Tavi Gevinson, $21.53 (buy here)
I'm one of these people who love having books lying around the house. It gives visitors something to snoop at and adds to the overall appearance of any room. I have Rookie Yearbook One which I love, hence wanting the second one. It's full of wonderful articles and even more wonderful photographs and illustrations. This book is sure get the creative juices flowing.

2. Bhs: Florence Owl Cushion, £16 (buy here)
A while ago I saw an adorable floral owl cushion in Urban Outfitters and now I'm in my very own place, I really want it for either the bedroom or living room, but they've sold out. Not to worry though, because Bhs have one almost identical.

3. Jo Malone: Incense & Embers Scented Candle, £39 (buy here)
I was tempted to buy myself a Jo Malone candle over the Christmas holidays, until I saw the price and decided I should wait. Jo Malone is expensive but there's no harm in indulging yourself now and again, which is what I plan to do.

YouTuber Confessions

After being tagged by a couple of fellow YouTubers to do the YouTuber Confessions tag back last year, I thought it was about time I did it. I haven't filmed a tag video in a while so it was quite nice filming a laid back, chatty video, even if I was completely off my tits on iced caramel lattes!

WHAT I AM WEARING: Tee: Topshop (buy here) • Dress: American Apparel

Wish List • February 2014

1. boohoo: Jessica Rose Smock Dress, £18 (buy here)
I haven't got many items from boohoo.com and I have no idea why, because there are some lovely pieces for a fraction of the price. I've got my eye on a couple of smock dresses from boohoo, this floral dress being one of them. The pastel pink against the floral pattern is getting me excited for spring/summer and I can't wait to stroll down the street in this number when summer finally decides to show itself.

2. I Love Mr. Mittens: Grey Cardigan, $425 (buy here)
Sadly, this cardigan shall be on my wish list for a long time; you only have to look at the price to realise why. I discovered I Love Mr. Mittens through Instagram and instantly fell in love with all their beautifully hand knitted jumpers, cardigans and beanies. I am determined to save up and own one of these beauties by next winter.

3. Bioderma: Hydrabio H2O, £9.99 (buy here)
I have seen beauty bloggers rave about Bioderma for years and I have finally caved in. I am yet to see a bad review, therefore I need to see what all the fuss is about. The Hydrabio H2O is meant to soothe, cleanse and moisturise dehydrated skin which I personally struggle with and it can be used as both a makeup remover and cleanser. I am very excited to get my hands on it.

4. ASOS: Laila Ballet Flats, £12 (buy here)
I never thought I'd see the day where I said I'm starting to move on from my ankle boot obsession, but today's the day. Don't get me wrong, I'm not completely waving goodbye to them but I have started to prefer wearing basic flats with jeans and some dresses/skirts and these nude ballet flats from ASOS would be a nice alternative to my black suede flats, that are quite frankly useless in this rainy weather.

What's high on your wish list this month?

Mom Jeans • Styling Saturday

1. Topshop: Vintage Mom Jeans, £40 (buy here)        2. ASOS: Jack Wills Beanie, £29.50 (buy here)
3. River Island: Cropped Biker Jacket, £60 (buy here)    4. Topshop: Striped Pocket Cropped Tee, £14 (buy here)
5. ASOS: Nars Nail Polish in Tomorrows Red, £14.50 (buy here)     6. ASOS: New Look Black Flats, £12.99 (buy here)
There's something about mom jeans that has most of us going gaga over them recently, despite the fact they can be kind of unflattering if you don't get the right ones for your body shape. They're also known as a bit of a man repeller, but girls, we have to dress to please ourselves, so you wear those super comfy mom jeans if you want, because life's too short to waste it trying to please others (especially men, and if you have the right guy, they're love whatever you wear - mom jeans included). I'm yet to find the perfect mom jeans for myself, so instead I thought I'd show you how I'd style them for this weeks styling saturday.

You may choose to wear your mom jeans with a fitted top to counteract the baggy jeans but I think they look lovely with a loose fitting crop top (these jeans from Topshop are high waisted) as a lot of mom jeans are baggy on the leg but tight around the hips, which will make your butt look amazing by the way, so not a total man repeller *wink wink*. I picked out this stripped crop tee as it's a favourite of mine, I'm wearing it right now as I write and have it in several other colours.

I've added a cropped leather jacket over the top because I couldn't live without mine and as it's cropped it will help accentuate your waist rather than look blocky. To finish off the look, I wanted to add a pop of colour and something I love to do is match my nail polish with either my lipstick, beanie, shoes or bag. As I've gone for some simple black pumps, I decided to go for red nail polish and a matching red beanie. You can't go wrong with a classic red. If the Jack Wills beanie is out of your price range, ASOS have an equally nice one here

So, that's my look, comfortable, casual yet still stylish. The kind of outfit I'd wear for lunch with the girls or coffee with the boyfriend.

Do you own a pair of mom jeans? If so, how do you style yours?

SS14 Peach Nectar • What's Your Flavour?

Myself and a handful of other bloggers were approached by Pago to create an outfit or moodboard inspired by our favourite Pago flavour, mine being the ever so scrumptious Peach Nectar. Not only do peaches taste divine but the colour itself is a must have during the warmer months. The colour brightens up any day, makes you feel uber summery and looks great against a tan (even if you only tan a little bit, like myself). I have gathered together a selection of some of my favourite clothing and accessories inspired by the pastel peach touches of Zac Posen's SS14 Collection.

January Favourites • 2014

How has it been roughly five months since I last filmed a favourites video? Bonkers! I spend half my time taking mental notes of bits and bobs I'm lovin' and want to share with you, which I then frustratingly forget about. Moral of the story: get back into the habit of writing these things down. Anyway, here is my first favourites video of the year. Enjoy.

Week in Photos No.74

It's that time of the week again, when I round up the last seven days (or so) of my life, through the eyes of Instagram. I have been fully getting back into the swing of things and it feels like I've not stopped, but in a good way. You may not have heard that I'm moving out in just over a week (I explain why in this video). It was pretty spontaneous decision that I only made a few weeks ago and now I officially have my own flat. Looking for for one and getting my head around all the legal bits for the first time took up a lot of energy but I'm ever so excited to have a place to call my own and I move in on the 19th!

Diana F+ by Lomography & Illustration

lomography diana f+ (buy similar)
After much debate about whether to get the Instax Mini by Fujifilm or the Diana F+ by Lomography, I decided to buy the lovely Diana F+ from Urban Outfitters back in the Summer. I knew this wouldn't be something I used all the time so I opted for the cheaper choice and I did prefer the look of it. I finally went to get the film developed a couple of weeks back and was really excited to see how they would turn out. My plan was to write a small review alongside the developed photos that I really wanted to share with you all. Now, here is when I tell you about my disappointment. The film was completely blank. Yes. Blank.

Favourite Instagram Accounts

You may have noticed that Instagram has a firm hold over me. Whether I'm posting my latest outfit and adventures or just browsing through my feed, I can't get enough of it. To put it lightly. I know many of you reading this can most likely relate to my obsession, so I'm sure you'd like to hear about my favourite Instagram accounts. So, in no particular order, here are my top seven insta-crushes!

1. @idalaerke
I found it so hard to find just four photos to use from Ida's Instagram because every photo is a modest masterpiece. She has the most picturesque way of documenting her life and gosh is it lovely.
